Worst Advice Ever/ V1027

Although I LOVE LOVE LOVE the retro and vintage dresses, I wanted to sew something I could wear to the office.  I found this wrap dress.  I chose a spandex fabric and wasn't sure how to work with it since it is stretchy and I have only worked with cottons and satins.

The guy cutting the fabric at the store said to use a zig-zag stitch so the thread wouldn't break after the seams were done.  This was the WORST ADVICE EVER.  All of the seams looked horrible and I ended up ripping apart all of them and re-sewing them all with a normal stitch.

The dress is ok, but once again, I wish I had sewn it smaller.  It is a size too big.  At least I didn't have to deal with buttons or zippers and if I didn't have to deal with ripping all the seams out and start them over, it would have been a really quick dress to make.
