I don't remember doing both of them for 1 single dress. Hopefully that helps some :) Here's my fun with that dress: http://www.thatssewamy.com/past-projects/gerties-shelf-bust-dress-butterick-b5882/That's Sew Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17546851097582418674noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6283432893182314840.post-57153885697383001022013-07-04T21:08:24.750-07:002013-07-04T21:08:24.750-07:00LOVE it! I'm making this dress and the pattern calls for the strap to be cut out of the contrast and main fabrics, but as far as I can tell, only the contrast fabric is used. I don't want to cut that giant strip out of my main fabric if I don't need to. Do you remember coming across this in your sewing?Corihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01117156360260347721noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6283432893182314840.post-63315548541382178382013-04-12T20:30:32.532-07:002013-04-12T20:30:32.532-07:00Thanks for the link! I will post a link here when I review the pattern fully. Hopefully in the next few days :) Here is the link to Gertie's explanation, I like the look of the Trashy Diva bust area best :) I'm small chested so it would flatter better! http://www.blogforbettersewing.com/2013/03/reader-question-will-butterick-5882.htmlThat's Sew Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17546851097582418674noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6283432893182314840.post-17434844338165983252013-04-10T20:01:23.159-07:002013-04-10T20:01:23.159-07:00Oh no! It goes more over the center of the bust. Unless I have it totally wrong, too. Which is possible, but it seems to fit, so even if I am wrong, I think I am going with it. Post a link to your dress. I'd love to see it!Cheriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10659088364165367101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6283432893182314840.post-24588783978764557142013-04-10T18:59:59.763-07:002013-04-10T18:59:59.763-07:00I made this and the first try I think the size was...I made this and the first try I think the size was too big, so I remade it and that time it was too small... I'm going INSANE! (Next I'm picking the middle of those 2 sizes lol). But on both the shelf part is NOT looking well. On the bottom of the strap - where does that sit on yours? Is it supposed to be where the underwire of a bra would be? Because that's what I imagined but mine is WAY WAY higher..

Thanks!
-Amy (www.thatssewamy.com)That's Sew Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17546851097582418674noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6283432893182314840.post-23479273912900387962013-03-27T15:58:10.054-07:002013-03-27T15:58:10.054-07:00Thanks...
