I've sewn mostly knit dresses and usually use one of the built-in stretch stitches depending on the seam. It's helpful to practice on scrap pieces first (it's so tedious picking out stitches!). :) Anyways, you did a great job on this dress!RikkiBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06354067584252095339noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6283432893182314840.post-58982039761507343982013-04-30T11:00:18.814-07:002013-04-30T11:00:18.814-07:00Sorry it didn't turn out like you were hoping,...Sorry it didn't turn out like you were hoping, but I think it looks lovely on you! I love sewing knits and also would've suggested a zig zag, albeit a very narrow zig zag.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6283432893182314840.post-581350309757735442013-02-10T18:52:53.175-08:002013-02-10T18:52:53.175-08:00I have to admit that I haven't really explored...I have to admit that I haven't really explored the stitches my machine can do. There probably is something better to use. I didn't like the zig zag because it made such an uneven seam, but I could see the argument for its ability to stretch with the fabric. Unless you have a stretch stitch on your machine (and chances are you do, zig zag holds up really well over time. I just happen to be wearing this very dress and also wish I would have sized it down a bit.I never do a zig zag either...I just straight stitch and slightly pull the fabric in front...just slightly. I too learned it the way you did. I also have a serger and use it when ever possible...love your fabric choice...mine is almost identical color family too but floral and a green added in. :)Laurie Louhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02082415851913937926noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6283432893182314840.post-50286888982143668412012-06-12T08:00:05.951-07:002012-06-12T08:00:05.951-07:00It looks great.
